David Whitby - Chairman
Mr Whitby spent 12 years developing the gas industry in Indonesia which led to the installation of some 1800km of high-pressure gas lines, thereby revolutionising the domestic gas industry of that country. He graduated from the Royal Military College in Canada with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and has served for 27 years in the oil and gas industry.
He is a currently a non-executive Director of Nido Petroleum Limited and was Chairman of Nido from 6 February 2008 until resigning on 15 May 2009. He had the role of Managing Director from 21 July 2004 until resigning on 6 February 2008. Mr Whitby was also formerly a Director of Cool Energy Pty Ltd from 11 June 2007 until his resignation on 9 February 2009.
Gary Jeffery - Managing Director
Mr Jeffery has over 39 years of experience in the oil, gas and mining and energy utilities industries working for a range of organisations in over 30 countries worldwide. He has broad project development, production operations and exploration management experience in resources and has demonstrated in his career the ability to find and commercialise oil and gas fields. Mr Jeffery has held management positions at AWE Limited, ARC Energy Limited, Tap Oil Limited, Griffin Energy Limited, Normandy Mining, Hadson Energy (now Apache), WAPET, Oxoco International and Texaco (now Chevron).
In addition to being a Director of Xstate Resources Limited, Mr Jeffery is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy, and a member of the Petroleum Club WA and SEAPEX.
In the past he has been an Executive Director of Arc Energy Limited (ASX), Tap Oil Limited (ASX), Banff Resources (TSX) and Kasese Cobalt Company (Uganda) as well as numerous Australian subsidiaries of International and Australian operating companies.
Ross Kestel - Non - Executive Director
Mr Kestel is a Chartered Accountant and was a director of a mid tier accounting practice for over 25 years. He has acted as a director and company secretary of a number of public companies involved in mineral exploration, mining, mine services, property development, manufacturing and technology industries. Mr Kestel is currently a non executive director of the following ASX listed companies - Resource Star Limited, Jatenergy Limited, Regis Resources Limited and Equator Resources Limited. Mr Kestel is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
James Brown - Non Executive
Director
Mr Brown brings a significant amount of international finance industry experience to the Board of Xstate Resources. His prior positions include First Vice President of Merrill Lynch and Vice President of Morgan Stanley where he served in equity research roles and supported numerous financial transactions in the Asia-Pacific region. Mr Brown served on the Board of ASX listed Nido Petroleum for five years as an independent non-executive Director. He presently consults to energy companies in Australia and South-East Asia.
David McArthur - Company Secretary
Mr McArthur is a Chartered Accountant, having spent four years with a major international accounting firm, and has over 30 years' experience in the accounting profession. Mr McArthur has been actively involved in the financial and corporate management of a number of public listed companies over the past 27 years.
Mr McArthur has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia.
Mr McArthur has substantial experience in capital raisings, company re-organisations and restructuring, mergers and takeovers, and asset acquisitions by public companies. Mr McArthur is an executive director of Lodestar Minerals Limited, GGG Resources plc and Bullabulling Gold Limited and is Company Secretary for a number of public listed companies.
